This bill would allow advanced practice registered nurses to the list of health care professionals that can examine those seeking to be a peace officer to make sure that the candidate is free from physical, emotional or mental conditions that would adversely affect the peace officer in performing his or her duties.

HB 872 is a compromise bill which includes provisions from the Senate verison SB 321.  This legislation requires secondary metal recyclers to obtain a permit from the sheriff every year. The sheriff is required to keep a record of all permits, the date of issuance, as well as the name and address of the permit holder. All of the information must be entered into a statewide electronic database created by the GBI. The sheriff may impose a reasonable permit fee.
